Yellow Cucumber, Sliced in album food
In Albums: food produce cucumbers

I photographed this sliced yellow cucumber before eating it. This is the same cucumber that is in the lower-right corner of the picture of yellow cucumbers I took at a farm stand.
Often, cucumbers of the familiar green variety will turn yellow as they ripen, but in this stage, the cucumbers will be overripe and unsuitable for eating. They can become unpleasantly acidic and very seedy. This particular cucumber was from a different variety which is naturally yellow: it was a rich yellow color, but if anything, was crisper and firmer than an average cucumber. I liked it more than the lemon cucumbers, another variety of yellow cucumber that I also purchased on the same day.
