This is a photo of the west branch of the Indian Creek, in Morris Park, Philadelphia. This is the sunniest, most exposed section of this creek in the park; the west branch of the creek emerges briefly from the forest into this sunny area before it travels into a culvert where it joins with the east branch under the park, and re-emerges south of Haverford avenue, soon joining up with Cobbs creek.
This area is highly disturbed ground, and has quite a lot of trash, not evident in this picture. However, there is ample wildlife in the area; here I heard a warbling vireo and baltimore oriole singing, and goldfinches were feeding in the gravely area down in the stream.
