This photo shows a marigold grown as a houseplant. This plant was a bit of an accident...I casually scattered marigold seeds in several of my pots, and this plant sprouted and survived, in the same pot as the papaya tree which I was also growing as a houseplant, during my senior year of college.

I found this marigold relatively easy to grow, in contrast to the papaya, which never did that well. I gave this pot with the papaya and marigold to Oberlin college's science library, and the staff agreed to care for them. When I came back to visit after graduating, and checked in on the plants, I was surprised to see this plant blooming!

If you have not tried growing marigolds as a houseplant, I would recommend giving it a try. I found it very easy and rewarding!
