Hungarian Wax Peppers in album food
In Albums: food peppers produce

These are unripe Hungarian wax peppers, for sale at the Newark, Delaware farmer's market for $3.99 a pound.
These peppers, in their ripe form, turn dark red and obtain a waxy appearance (more so than pictured here); in this form they are used to create paprika.
The fresh peppers are very light in aroma, very fresh tasting, and significantly less rich and warm in character than nearly all other peppers. However, they can pack a significant punch in terms of heat and spiciness.
I buy them only occasionally, for variety.
