These Caribe peppers were for sale at the Newark, Delaware farmer's market for $2.99 a pound. This variety of pepper is also called the Chile Guero (meaning light-colored chili). They are most similar to a Hungarian wax pepper in terms of flavor and aroma. Their heat is highly variable, some batches I've bought have been similar in heat to Jalapenos. Others, however, have been much, much hotter, more on par with a serrano.
A lone habanero is hiding in the mix, providing a nice color comparison.
