Field of Chickory Flowers, Woodlands Cemetery, Philadelphia in album nature

In Albums: flowers nature Philadelphia

A meadow-like area with numerous light blue chickory flowers in bloom, and some other yellow flowers visible too, with trees in the background

These chickory blossoms were in bloom in this wild meadow-like area in Woodlands cemetery, Philadelphia. I was here just a few days ago, and there were no chickory blossoms visible yet!

I also took a closer photo of the chickory plant and its flowers.

There are some beehives placed at the edge of this area, so I suspect that this little miniature wildflower sanctuary functions primarily as a food source for the bees.
