White Cucumber in album produce
In Albums: food produce cucumbers

This white cucumber was for sale in a bin of mixed cucumbers at the Clark Park Farmer's Market in West Philadelphia. These cucumbers were grown by the Pennypack Farm in Horsham, PA.
This white cucumber was the only one like it in the batch; I did not buy or try it, so I have no idea how it compares with the others in terms of flavor. However, I will say that in shape and texture it resembled normal cucumbers more than some of the other varieties (like the lemon cucumbers, one of which is at the lower left of this photo, or the orange cucumbers).
Sometimes when growing cucumbers, if one is partly covered in soil, or heavily shaded, it will grow partially or all while. This is because plants grow chlorophyll (the green pigment which converts sunlight to energy, responsible for nearly all of the green color in plants) in response to light, and will often stop growing it if the light levels are below a certain threshold.
