Trumpet Vine Leaves and Flowers in album flowers
Jun 16th, 2011, by Alex Zorach
This is a closeup photo of the same plant in the photo trumpet vine on a Philadelphia street. You can find more information about the plant itself on that photo. This photo shows a clearer view of the characteristic leaves and flowers of this plant.
The leafs are compound, with numerous serrated, with clearly visible ridges, arranged opposite each other, with a large terminal leaflet. The leaves and branches also are opposite on the stems, visible in the tangle of branches in the back of this photo.
This photo also shows some unopened flower buds, a sign that this plant is going to continue to bloom for some time after these flowers process. Hummingbirds are often attracted to these flowers.
