Interior of a subway station, clean, relatively new, with gray tile and orange signs reading: Oregon

This photo shows the interior of SEPTA's Oregon station on the Broad street line, the major north-south subway line in Philadelphia. This subway line has an orange color on maps, which is reflected by the orange color scheme evident in the signs in this station and other stations on the line.

This station is one of the newer stations on the Broad Street line, one of the few that has been renovated relatively recently. I found it to be clean, bright, and attractive. The outside, however, is a relatively sterile, institutional-looking building that is a bit of an eyesore in the otherwise pleasing Marconi plaza. Although the station was clean, someone was smoking in it, which I found unpleasant, as I hate breathing in cigarette smoke. I deliberately omitted the smoker from the picture, to protect the guilty.

Oregon is a major east-west street in South Philadelphia. This station is the second-to-last stop on the south end of SEPTA's Broad Street line, and the last that is really oriented towards residents. The last stop, AT&T, is oriented toward the stadiums, a place I never go and will probably never go as I am not a huge fan of a professional sports.
