Pink and Purple Petunias in a Large Planter in album flowers
Jun 27th, 2011, by Alex Zorach
This is a photo of a large square planter filled with pink and purple petunias. There are several of these planters in the middle of the triangular concrete terrace located at the intersection of 42nd Street and Woodland Avenue in West Philadelphia. This intersection is close to the eastern edge of the campus of the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (USP).
Note a small variegated holly in the center of the planter, that is almost being buried by the petunias. The petunias are thriving, and are even overflowing from the container.
The congruence of the colors in the planters here, and the flower beds on the nearby USP buildings suggests that USP maintains this area.
