This photo shows the occupy Philadelphia protest at City Hall in Philadelphia, viewed from a distance. This is Philadelphia's local version of the Occupy Wall Street movement or protest.

As this photo shows, this area has a variety of people coming and going who have nothing to do with the protest. The protest encompasses (and indeed, is centered around) one of the main entrances and exits to the city hall station on SEPTA's broad street line and the 15th street stations on the trolley lines and market street line.

Many of the people holding signs most visible from the street are actually not officially part of the protest. Some of the signs have negative messages that conflict with the official stances agreed upon by the movement. However, the movement encourages free speech and encourages participation from people with a wide variety of viewpoints.
