This photo shows lemon balm, steeping in a mug. This lemon balm was grown in the flower bed of Tabernacle United Church, in West Philadelphia, who generously gave me permission to harvest this herb.

Lemon balm is one of my favorite herbs for use in making herbal tea. It produces a gentle, lemony flavor that is vegetal and sweet. I find drinking it to be mildly relaxing.
