Mural in the Cat In The Cream, Oberlin College in album Oberlin

In Albums: Oberlin murals music

A brightly colored mural depicting musicians from many different cultures, in a room with a plain floor and ceiling and some chairs around the edge

This mural is one of the defining features of the cat in the cream coffeehouse, which is a performance space and musical venue on Oberlin college's campus.

True to what happens in the cat in the cream, this mural depicts musicians from a wide variety of cultures, and shows a scene that shifts from day to night, which I also found was true to this place's nature, as I remember being at events here at all times of the day and night. The cat in the cream would host numerous concerts, especially of folk music, jazz, and non-western music, and also small theater events and other types of artistic performances. There were also open mic nights, sometimes dancing, and other types of student organizations and activities that meet in the space.

I have not been back to Oberlin in some time, but I hope this place is still as vibrant as it was when I was a student.
