Black Velvet Apricot, Sliced

Jul 11th, 2011, by Alex Zorach
This photo shows a sliced black velvet apricot. This is the apricot that I purchased from the bunch in my earlier picture of black velvet apricots.
I found this fruit to be absolutely delightful. The interior is soft, sweet, and extremely juicy, much softer and sweeter than a normal apricot. It is also intensely aromatic, and has a somewhat floral fragrance, making the experience of it almost similar to eating pure honey.
Pictured in the background is a mango nectarine, which I sampled side-by-side with this apricot. I can't say which of these two fruits I preferred.
