Bamboo in Cleveland in Winter in album Cleveland

In Albums: Cleveland gardening

Bamboo, mostly brown and yellow, unhealthy looking, with snow on the ground

Mar 1st, 2003, by Alex Zorach

There are many species of bamboo, and some are hardier than others, but none of these evergreen grasses are hardy enough to truly thrive in the cold, windy winters of Northeast ohio. This small patch of bamboo was planted in a sheltered area in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, just off of Lee road, south of Cedar. It looks rather sickly by this time in late winter. But it does make it through the winter.
