Houseplants on Windowsill, Afternoon in Fall
In Albums: houseplants

Oct 17th, 2011, by Alex Zorach
This photo shows four of my houseplants on my windowsill, with afternoon sunlight filtering both through their own leaves, and the leaves of a linden tree out the window.
In the summer in this room, the sunlight is almost too bright, but in fall, with a lower angle of sun, some of the light is blocked by trees outside, and the effect is quite pleasant.
Some of these plants have fared better than others. The fiddle-leaf fig on the left, named Jerome, is the most healthy and vigorous of my houseplants, and has grown substantially since I bought him several months ago. You can see a photo of this fiddle-leaf fig that I took about three months earlier. The other pots, moving from left to right, are a coffee plant, a dracaena (Janet craig compacta), and a begonia.
You can also see my photo of two houseplants on the other windowsill in this room, which shows an ivy and pothos.
