This is a photo of a pin oak, Quercus palustris which is a memorial to Gordon Pollock Glenn (Dec. 23, 1960-Sept. 4, 1975). The tree is planted near Bryn Athyn, PA, in a small park off between Winchester drive and Baldwin road.

This photo of this tree shows the characteristic growth pattern of a pin oak, with a thick, straight central trunk, and smaller side branches, which angle downwards lower on the tree, and upwards higher up on the tree. This tree is thriving, possibly because it was planted on very flat ground in a sunny area, ideal growing conditions for this species.
