Chinese Okra (Luffa) in album food

This vegetable has many names; in the U.S. and Canada it is often called Chinese okra. The plant it is from, is often called Luffa.
I have not to my knowledge eaten this plant; it looks rather unappealing to me, but I would be open to trying it in the future.
