Calvert Cliffs
In Albums: nature

I took this photo of the Calvert cliffs when visiting Calvert Cliffs State Park, in Calvert county, Maryland, during the summer of 2002 when I was working at UMCES.
I find these cliffs to be quite remarkable in that they bear little resemblance to any other cliffs I have visited on the east coast. They remind me a lot more of California, and a bit of some formations in the midwest, on the great lakes.
Calvert Cliffs State Park also has some interesting ecology and is a good place to visit if you wish to familiarize yourself with some local ecosystems.
