Organizational Structure

Organizational Structure refers to the abstract organization of a complex entity. The entity in question could be a corporation, a government, an ecosystem, an economy, a community of people, a living organism, a galaxy, or any number of other systems.

Different forms of Organization:

There are different ways of looking at the structure of systems; often, a given system will have multiple levels of organization in which different structures play predominant roles. Here are a few examples of some types of organizational structure:

In most businesses and government entities, for example, people are organized in a hierarchy when it comes to supervision. However, these same entities may have other structures within them as well, such as flow networks of information, or simple networks of personal contacts.
