Yellow Maradol Papayas: in album fruit

These yellow papayas, PLU code 3112, marked as papaya maradol were for sale at the Newark, Delaware Farmer's market for 99 cents a pound. This price can be rather steep, given how immense these fruit are.
These tropical fruit were actually in-season at the time this photograph was taken, but I did not try any so I cannot comment on their quality. These papayas actually look pretty good quality, as they have been allowed to ripen (turning them yellow) but show relatively few bruises.
