These white onions were for sale at the Newark, Delaware farmer's market for 69 cents a pound.

I find the typical white onions sold at most stores to be quite strong. Raw, I can only use a small amount of them before they become overpowering. They are much more useful cooked, especially if you want to cook the onions for some time and have them retain a stronger flavor. In general though, I tend to buy these white onions very infrequently, opting instead to buy red or Spanish onions.
