This photo shows a red-tailed hawk carrying a stick, probably to build a nest. The bird picked the stick up off the ground and carried it up into this black walnut tree.

The black walnut tree is mostly bare of leaves, but loaded with walnuts, the green orbs visible in this photo.

This photo was taken in Woodlands cemetery in West Philadelphia.
