Teaware at the Random Tea Room in Philadelphia. This photo shows a gaiwan, which is a lidded bowl, one of the traditional methods used to brew tea in China. Normally, a gaiwan would be considerably smaller; this is an unusually large gaiwan. The tea is brewed in the gaiwan and then poured into the glass jar, and then served in the small cups from there.

This photo also shows an hourglass timer which can be used to check the steeping time.
