In Albums: Newark, DE transit

A historic train, painted red, reading: NORFOLK SOUTHERN, behind a chain-link fence on a bright, cloudy day

This photo shows a historic Norfolk Southern train in Newark, DE. These are the main east-coast corridor tracks, and are used by AMTRAK, SEPTA, and freight trains as well. I'm not sure what set of tracks this train is travelling on.

This was an interesting sight; I have no idea what this train is doing, or what is going on here. Norfolk-Southern is a freight rail company, and I see its freight trains regularly on these tracks, but this is clearly an empty passenger train; I have never seen any train cars like this in my life. I am curious what this train is and where it is headed.
