Log Cabin in Philadelphia

A two-story log cabin, surrounded by trees, in a city

Jun 16th, 2011, by Alex Zorach

This log cabin is an unlikely sight in a highly urban area of Philadelphia. Located in the Northern Liberties neighborhood, northeast from Center City, this log cabin is surrounded by trees, and has a shady cobblestone alley behind it, much of which is overrun by a Kudzu infestation. The broader neighborhood is mostly older homes but with a number of more newly-constructed homes as well. It's a strange hodge-podge of architecture.

This log cabin may look bizarre and out of place in the city, but it is relatively less out-of-place in its immediate surroundings than it would be at most other locations around the city.
