Leaves in Water in a Grassy Lawn in album nature

This photo was taken in Kells Park, in Newark, Delaware, in winter. The leaves in this shallow pool of water got my attention as they were a natural element in the midst of a rather artificial, carefully-controlled lawn environment in the park.

Much of this area was originally swampy, and had been drained to create residential neighborhoods for the city of Newark; this picture illustrates a few of the forces of nature working to bring this area back to what it naturally would be.
