These crimini mushrooms were for sale at the Reading Terminal Market for $3.99 a pound. Crimini mushrooms are just a particular style and size of maturity of the common mushroom Agaricus bisporus.

Crimini mushrooms refer to small or immature mushrooms which are of a darker-colored variety. They tend to be a little more expensive and a little harder to obtain than the regular mushrooms (also called button mushrooms) which are the lighter / white variety, but I find they have a similar taste. I dislike all mushrooms from this species; they all have subtly different tastes and textures, but I find they all have a slightly unpleasant flavor.
