An adorable baby bunny foraging for food in some dry leaves

Jul 13th, 2008, by Alex Zorach

I saw this baby bunny in the lower part of Torrey Pines State Reserve, in San Diego, CA, relatively near the parking lot. Unlike on the east coast, where there is lush green vegetation nearly everywhere, this bunny was searching for green things to eat in a mostly sparse landscape, surrounded by dry leaves and mostly tougher plants.

It looks like a different species from the rabbits of the east coast, but I do not know much about the rabbits on the west coast so I cannot say what it is.
