PATCO Ticket Machines, 8th Street Station, Philadelphia: in album Philadelphia

Jul 19th, 2011, by Alex Zorach

These two PATCO ticket machines are located in the 8th street PATCO station in Philadelphia.

You can also view a picture of the gates in this station.

As much as I love SEPTA, I find that these ticket machines offer a much better experience than SEPTA's automated machines. SEPTA has token machines, which only sell tokens, not any of the passes--passes must be purchased manually from an attendant, making the passes trickier to come into the possession of. SEPTA's machines are also often out-of-order, and they have quirks, such as not dispensing individual tokens, and requiring you to purchase them in certain unintuitive quantities.
